Websites built properly from the start.
I work out the structure, write the copy, design the pages and build the site myself, so nothing gets lost being passed between people.
Good & Able creates fast, search-ready business websites that make your business easier to understand, and easier to choose.

Good websites start before the design.

A website can look polished and still struggle to explain the business behind it.
That usually happens when structure, content, design and development are treated as separate jobs.
I start with your business: what you offer, who it’s for and what the website has to do. Then I work out what needs to be said and how the pages should be organised.
Only then do I design and build it.

Every part of the site has to work with the others.
The message, structure, search foundations, design and code all have to support each other. A good-looking homepage can’t carry the rest on its own.
Strategy & structure
Before I design anything, I work out what the website needs: your services, who you’re trying to reach, what matters most and how people should move through the site. Every page ends up with a reason to be there.
Website copywriting
You won’t receive a finished design and a request to fill in the gaps. I write the core website copy as part of the project, turning what you know into words your customers understand.
Web design
Typography, spacing, imagery and interaction built around real content, so the design makes the message easier to understand rather than competing with it.
SEO infrastructure
Page hierarchy, headings, metadata, URLs, internal links and technical search requirements are handled while the website is built, not bolted on afterwards.
CMS integration
Need to update the website without touching code? I set up an editing system around the content you change, using Sanity or EmDash, whichever suits the site.
Performance-first development
Clean code, layouts that adapt to any screen, and nothing sent to the browser that the page doesn’t need, so the site loads quickly on desktop and on phones.
You know your business. You shouldn’t have to become a copywriter to explain it.

One of the hardest parts of a new website is knowing what to say. So I don’t ask you to send finished copy.
I go through what you offer, who it’s for, what customers need to understand and what might stop them getting in touch. Then I shape the message and write the core copy to fit the structure of the site.
Headlines have a purpose.
Service pages answer real questions.
Calls to action feel like the natural next step.
The design is built around real content, not placeholder text.
The words shape the design, so nothing has to be squeezed in afterwards.

What I mean by performance.
Speed matters, but a fast website can still lose people. A website performs when:
Someone immediately understands what you do.
The navigation makes sense.
The page answers the questions they actually have.
It works properly on their phone.
Search engines can understand its structure.
The next step is obvious.
I build for all of it, speed included.
What I build with, and why.
The foundation
I build with Astro.
I specialise in focused business and marketing websites, and those should be fast and simple.
Astro is the framework I build them with. It’s made for content-led sites and doesn’t send code to the browser that the page doesn’t need. When a site needs regular content updates, I connect it to a proper CMS instead of changing the whole technical approach.
A fair question
Why not default to WordPress?
WordPress is a capable platform, and it’s the right choice for many websites. I just don’t think every business website needs it.
For focused business sites, service websites and landing pages, I prefer something leaner, where I control exactly what goes into the finished site and speed is built in from the start.
Where you need to edit content, I add Sanity or EmDash, so you still get a practical CMS without building the whole site around WordPress.
Easy to edit where it needs to be.
A fast website doesn’t have to be one only a developer can update. When your team needs to make changes, I set up a CMS around what you update: services, articles, projects, team members and similar content, all editable without opening the code.

Structured content
Sanity
A dedicated editing platform for sites where content needs to be organised carefully and reused across different pages.
Astro-native
EmDash
A CMS built for Astro, for projects where it helps to keep the website and its editing in one place.
You get the editing you need without slowing the public site down.
SEO starts before launch.
Search optimisation isn’t something I switch on after the website is finished. It starts with how the website is organised.
I plan the page structure, URLs, headings and internal links as part of the project, then set up the technical side search engines need to find and understand the site. Depending on the project, that can include:

Page titles
Meta descriptions
Canonical URLs
Semantic HTML
Heading hierarchy
XML sitemap
Robots directives
Image alternative text
Social metadata
Redirects
Structured data
Internal linking
Technical SEO is included in my website builds. I don’t promise rankings. I make sure your website doesn’t start out with the fundamentals missing.
What I offer, and how it’s priced.
A full website for your business, a focused page for your next offer, or clearer words for the site you already have. Every project is quoted to its scope: the pages, the content, any functionality or integrations and how much existing material I can work with. You’ll see the scope and the price before any work starts.

How a Good & Able website gets built.
- 01
Understand
I start with the business: your services, customers, goals, current website and what needs to change. I ask the questions that need answering before any design starts.
- 02
Structure
I decide which pages are needed and what each one has to do. The aim is a clear site structure, not pages added because other websites have them.
- 03
Write
I work out the message and write the core website copy, so the design has real words to work around.
- 04
Design
With the structure and message settled, I design around them. Typography, spacing, imagery and interaction are there to make the content easier to take in.
- 05
Build
Once you’ve approved the design, I build it in Astro, with mobile layouts, accessibility, any CMS, technical SEO and speed handled as part of the build.
- 06
Test & launch
I check it across devices, test the forms and links, set up the agreed search settings and get the site ready to go live.
Six steps from first conversation to finished website
Selected work. And the thinking behind it.
The finished website matters. So does the thinking that got it there. Each case study looks beyond the final screens to show how structure, messaging, design and development came together around the business.
Work directly with the person building your website.

Good & Able is an independent studio. I’m Cozmin, and you’ll work with me from the first conversation through structure, design, development and launch.
No account manager passing messages along.
No details lost between departments.
You deal with one person the whole way through.

Let’s build it properly.
Starting from scratch or replacing a website you’ve outgrown? Tell me about the business, what isn’t working and what the new website needs to achieve.
You don’t need to arrive with a finished brief.
